At Emcor we custom-design investment portfolios with specific characteristics as to strategic and sector allocation and market and manager exposure to meet the client’s desired risk/reward profile. We have substantial experience in the development and management of ‘white-label’ or ‘private-label’ investment programs which utilize equity, fixed-income and other specialists investment managers. We advised several institutional clients in the development of multi-compartment mutual funds (UCITS/SICAV) domiciled in Dublin and Luxembourg, and were actively involved in their regulatory approval and listing processes.

Emcor has access to industry databases of traditional as well as alternative investment managers. Manager evaluation and selection are based on qualitative analysis of the manager’s strategy, performed by investment professionals with extensive direct experience in hedge funds and risk management. Qualitative analysis helps assess the manager’s ability to generate returns, the strategy’s scalability, and its risk management process, including an extensive assessment of the operational risk of a manager. Quantitative studies help us analyze the manager’s historical return attributes, its likely correlation and volatility relative to other managers and markets (in both normal and stressed environments), and its optimal percentage weighting in the portfolio. Our expanded quantitative analysis acknowledges the limitations of MPT, and seeks to create a more rigorous and thoughtful approach to selecting and weighting diversifying strategies.
